Product Description

SF3B1 also known as SAP 155 is a crucial component of the SF3b complex, which is associated with the U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) and plays an essential role in spliceosome assembly. This complex is vital for the splicing of pre-mRNA, a process that is critical for the proper expression of genes. The interaction of SAP 145 with other spliceosomal proteins, such as SAP 49, SAP 130, and SAP 155, highlights SAP 145′s importance in the formation and stability of the spliceosome. Notably, the direct interaction between SAP 49 and SAP 145 is mediated by the amino-terminus of SAP 49, which contains two RNA-recognition motifs, suggesting this interaction is integral to the complex′s ability to tether U2 snRNP to the branch site during splicing.
