| Product Description | |
Jagged2 also known as JAG2 is a member of the LIN-12/Notch family of transmembrane receptors, plays a pivotal role in developmental processes by influencing cell fate decisions. Jagged2 protein is primarily located in the cell membrane, where Jagged2 functions as a ligand for Notch receptors, thereby activating signaling pathways essential for various biological processes, including cardiovascular development and hematopoiesis. The interaction between Jagged2 and Notch is crucial, as this interaction not only regulates cell differentiation but also prevents myoblasts from maturing into muscle cells by inhibiting muscle-specific genes. Jagged2 expression is notably up-regulated in certain pathological conditions, such as cervical squamous cell carcinoma, highlighting Jagged2′s potential role in tumorigenesis. |
