| Product Description | |
Cyclin E1 belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, whose members are characterized by a dramatic periodicity in protein abundance through the cell cycle. Cyclin E plays a pivotal role in the regulation of the cell cycle, particularly during the transition from the G1 phase to S phase. Cyclin E partners with the transcription factor E2F to drive the expression of genes necessary for DNA synthesis. The cyclin E/E2F complex is predominantly active during G1 phase, where cyclin E facilitates the expression of S phase-specific proteins, ensuring cells are adequately prepared for DNA replication. Precise regulation of cyclin E levels is crucial, as dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and is often implicated in various cancers. |
