| Product Description | |
P-cadherin also known as Cadherin 3, CDH3 is a classical cadherin of the cadherin superfamily. P-cadherin plays a crucial role in cell adhesion, maintaining tissue integrity and facilitating morphogenetic processes during development. P-cadherin localizes primarily in epithelial cell plasma membranes, forming adherens junctions that connect neighboring cells and contribute to tissue structural stability. This specific location enables P-cadherin to interact with cytoskeleton and signaling molecules, influencing cellular behavior and tissue organization. P-cadherin′s interaction with β-catenin and other cytoplasmic proteins regulates cadherin-mediated adhesion, impacting cell migration and differentiation. P-cadherin′s role in mediating these interactions highlights its significance in normal physiological processes and various diseases, including cancer, where altered cadherin expression can increase invasiveness and metastasis. |
