Product Description

HBO1 also known MYST2, KAT7 is a member of the MYST family of histone acetyltransferases, which play a crucial role in regulating transcription through chromatin modification. HBO1 is primarily located in the nucleus and is highly expressed in human testis, where HBO1 is involved in histone acetylation, thereby influencing gene expression and DNA replication. HBO1 interacts with ORC1, the largest subunit of the origin recognition complex, which is essential for initiating DNA replication. By mediating histone acetylation, HBO1 not only facilitates gene transcription but also represses androgen receptor-mediated transcription, indicating a potential role in regulating gene expression in both normal physiology and prostate cancer. HBO1′s ability to modulate these critical processes underscores its importance in cellular function and highlights its relevance as a target for research in cancer biology and transcriptional regulation.
