| Product Description | |
Prdex3(Peroxiredoxin 3) also known as PRX III is a mitochondrial protein with antioxidant function. Prdex3 plays a crucial role in cellular defense against oxidative stress by reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and maintaining redox homeostasis. Prdex3′s localization within the mitochondria is particularly significant, as this organelle is a major site of ROS production during cellular respiration. By effectively neutralizing ROS in the mitochondria, Prdex3 helps to prevent oxidative damage to mitochondrial DNA and proteins, which is vital for maintaining mitochondrial function and overall cellular health. Dysregulation of Prdex3 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, highlighting Prdex3′s importance in both normal physiology and disease pathology. Prdex3 expression is notably elevated in certain cancers, suggesting a potential role in tumorigenesis and progression. |
