| Product Description | |
PPM1G also known as PP2Cγ, PP2CG is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases. PPM1G plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by acting as a serine/threonine protein phosphatase, which is essential for the regulation of various cellular processes, including cell division, apoptosis, and stress responses. PPM1G is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is widely expressed, with particularly high levels found in the testis, skeletal muscle, and heart. PPM1G localization allows for the timely regulation of dephosphorylation events that are critical for the function of pre-mRNA splicing factors, thereby facilitating the formation of the functional spliceosome. PPM1G modulation of these processes underscores its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stress, making PPM1G a vital target for research in cell biology and disease mechanisms. |
