Product Description

PSMA also known as PSM, FOLH1 is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the M28 peptidase family. PSMA plays a crucial role in prostate cancer diagnostics, as PSMA is overexpressed in malignant tumors, making PSMA a more reliable marker compared to other prostate-specific antigens like prostate-specific antigen (PSA), which can also be elevated in benign conditions. PSMA expression is not only limited to prostate cancer but is also observed in other malignancies, highlighting PSMA potential as a therapeutic target. PSMA interaction with specific proteins in the tumor microenvironment is essential for understanding PSMA role in cancer biology, as these interactions can affect tumor growth and response to treatment.
