Product Description

CD206 also known as MMR, MRC1 is a type I transmembrane receptor protein predominantly expressed on the surface of macrophages, immature dendritic cells, hepatic and lymphatic endothelial cells, retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), and mesangial cells. This cell surface localization enables CD206 to function as a phagocytic and endocytic receptor, recognizing carbohydrate ligands on the surfaces of pathogens and facilitating their uptake and clearance by the immune system. The extracellular portion of CD206 includes eight C-type carbohydrate recognition domains (CRDs) clustered together to achieve high-affinity binding to saccharides like mannose, fucose, and N-acetylglucosamine present on bacteria, fungi, and viruses.
