| Product Description | |
GluR-2 also known as GRIA2 is a critical component of the AMPA receptor complex, which mediates fast excitatory neurotransmission in the central nervous system. GluR-2 is primarily located in the postsynaptic membrane of neurons, where GluR-2 plays a vital role in synaptic plasticity, a fundamental mechanism underlying learning and memory. Proper functioning of GluR-2 is essential for maintaining synaptic strength and facilitating communication between neurons. Alterations in GluR-2 expression or function have been implicated in various neurological disorders, including epilepsy, schizophrenia, and neurodegenerative diseases, highlighting GluR-2′s significance in both normal brain function and disease pathology. |
