Product Description

HDAC9(Histone deacetylase 9) is a member of the histone deacetylase family. HDAC9 plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation through function as a histone deacetylase, which removes acetyl groups from lysine residues on histones, leading to chromatin condensation and transcriptional repression. This process is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various biological processes, including cell differentiation and proliferation. HDAC9 is involved in muscle gene expression modulation and has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. HDAC9 exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms, HDAC9 and HDAC9a, with both retaining HDAC catalytic domain and deacetylase activity, yet differing in expression patterns and functional roles.
