Product Description

Basigin also known as EMMPRIN, CD147, BSG a plasma membrane protein that is important in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation, and tumor progression. Basigin also is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, ubiquitously expressed in various tissues. Basigin is Basigin plays a crucial role in the regulation of matrix remodeling at the epidermal-dermal interface, where Basigin stimulates fibroblasts to produce various matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), including interstitial collagenase, gelatinase A, and stromelysin-1. These enzymes are vital during tissue degradation and wound healing, as MMPs facilitate the breakdown of extracellular matrix components, allowing for cellular migration and tissue repair.
