Product Description

CLIC4 also known as chloride intracellular channel 4, H1, huH1, p64H1, CLIC4L, MTCLIC is a 253 amino acid single-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular ion transport. CLIC4 is primarily localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm and features a GST C-terminal domain, which is significant for function. CLIC4 is expressed in various tissues, including the placenta, heart, skeletal muscle, and epithelial cells from the kidney, colon, and esophagus, where CLIC4 facilitates the selective transport of chloride and other ions across membranes. This ion transport is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating physiological processes such as cell volume, pH balance, and electrical excitability.
