| Product Description | |
ARF5(ARF GTPase 5) is a member of the human ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) gene family. ARF5 plays a crucial role in regulating vesicle trafficking and signal transduction within eukaryotic cells. ARF5 is primarily located in the Golgi apparatus, where ARF5 is essential for maintaining organelle integrity and facilitating the assembly of coat proteins vital for vesicle formation. This localization allows ARF5 to coordinate interactions between spectrin and Golgi membranes, as well as mediate association of actin with the Golgi through localization of Rho family G-proteins, such as Rac and CDC42, along with WASP/Arp2/3 complexes. ARF5 functions critically in cellular processes such as membrane trafficking, which impacts various physiological functions and cellular responses. The ARF proteins are categorized as class I (ARF1, ARF2,and ARF3), class II (ARF4 and ARF5) and class III (ARF6). The members of each class share a common gene organization. |
