| Product Description | |
Cytokeratin 1 also known as Keratin1, CK1, KRT1 is a member of the keratin gene family. Cytokeratin 1 plays an essential role in the epidermis, constituting a significant portion of keratinocyte cytoskeleton and contributing to skin barrier function. Cytokeratin 1 serves as a key marker for tissue differentiation and helps characterize various malignancies, including epithelioid hemangioendotheliomas, angiosarcomas, schwannomas, epithelioid sarcomas, and synovial sarcomas. Located on chromosome 12q13.13, mutations in the human Cytokeratin 1 gene can lead to abnormal filament associations, resulting in conditions such as epidermolytic hyperkeratosis. |
