Product Description | |
DJ-1 also known as DJ1, PARP7 is a highly-conserved protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in protecting cells from oxidative stress and maintaining mitochondrial function. DJ-1′s ability to regulate the androgen receptor by forming a complex with PIASxα highlights DJ-1′s importance in hormonal signaling pathways, which can have significant implications in both cancer biology and neurodegenerative diseases. The gene encoding DJ-1 is located on chromosome 1p36.23, a region associated with various chromosomal abnormalities in tumor cells, and mutations in this gene have been linked to Parkinson′s disease, underscoring DJ-1′s relevance in neuroprotection. |
