| Product Description | |
Angiopoietin-1 also known as ANG-1, ANGPT1 is a secreted glycoprotein that belongs to the angiopoietin family. Angiopoietin-1 plays a vital role in angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels, and is essential for proper endothelial cell development and function. Angiopoietin-1 is primarily secreted and acts as a ligand for the Tie-2 receptor, which is crucial for vascular stability and integrity. Angiopoietin-1′s interaction with Tie-2 promotes endothelial cell survival and inhibits apoptosis, making Angiopoietin-1 a key player in maintaining vascular homeostasis. Additionally, Angiopoietin-1 has a potential fibrinogen-like domain at its carboxy terminus and coiled-coil regions at the amino terminus, which may influence interactions and functional properties.
