| Product Description | |
WT1 also known as WT33, WAGR is a transcription factor that contains four zinc-finger motifs at the C-terminus and a proline/glutamine-rich DNA-binding domain at the N-terminus. WT1 plays a crucial role in kidney and gonadal development by regulating genes involved in cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. Predominantly localized in the nucleus, WT1′s cellular location is essential for its function as a transcriptional regulator, and any mislocalization can disrupt gene expression patterns. Mutations or altered expression of WT1 are associated with Wilms′ tumor, a pediatric kidney cancer, as well as other malignancies like leukemia and mesothelioma. |
