Product Description

Glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK-3) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in numerous signaling pathways, particularly those involved in glycogen metabolism and cellular adhesion, and has been linked to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer′s disease. GSK-3 exists in two isoforms, GSK-3α and GSK-3β, which differ in subcellular localization, with GSK-3α primarily found in the cytoplasm and GSK-3β localized in both the cytoplasm and nucleus. This differential localization is significant as GSK-3 may influence specific signaling pathways that each isoform regulates, thereby affecting cellular responses to various stimuli.
