Product Description

Bax belongs to the BCL2 protein family. Bax is primarily located in the cytosol and translocates to the mitochondria during the early stages of apoptosis, where Bax facilitates the release of cytochrome c, a key event that triggers the apoptotic cascade. Understanding the localization and function of Bax is vital, as Bax activity is tightly regulated by interactions with anti-apoptotic proteins like Bcl-2, which can inhibit pro-apoptotic effects. The balance between Bax and Bcl-2 is critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis, and dysregulation of this balance can lead to various diseases, including cancer.
