| Product Description | |
IFNAR1(Interferon alpha/beta receptor 1) also known as IFN-α/βRα is a type I membrane protein that forms one of the two chains of a receptor for interferons alpha and beta. IFNAR1 plays a crucial role in the immune response by mediating the effects of type I interferons, which are vital for establishing an antiviral state in cells. IFNAR1 is primarily located on the cell surface, where IFNAR1 binds to interferons α and β, triggering a cascade of intracellular signaling that leads to the activation of genes involved in antiviral defense. The importance of this location cannot be overstated, as IFNAR1 allows for rapid response to viral infections, enabling cells to mount an effective defense. Additionally, IFNAR1 interaction with the cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase JAK1 is essential for signal transduction, further emphasizing the significance of cellular positioning in mediating immune responses. |
