| Product Description | |
MEK1 also known as MKK1, MAP2K1 and MEK2 also known as MKK2, MAP2K2 are dual specificity protein kinase that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase family. MEK1 and MEK2 play a crucial role in the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway, essential for various cellular processes, including proliferation, differentiation, and survival. MEK1 and MEK2 proteins are located in the cytoplasm and activate in response to extracellular signals, leading to phosphorylation of downstream MAP kinases such as ERK. Proper functioning of MEK1 and MEK2 remains vital, as dysregulation of this pathway can contribute to various diseases, including cancer. MEK1 and MEK2 interact with other proteins in the signaling cascade, such as Raf kinases, further underscoring their importance in cellular signaling networks. |
