| Product Description | |
Rrn3 also known as TIF-IA plays a crucial role in the transcription of ribosomal RNA genes by RNA polymerase I, which is essential for ribosome biogenesis and protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells. Rrn3 ensures proper assembly of ribosomes, which are vital for cellular growth and function. In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Rrn3 is one of the key transcription factors required for rRNA gene transcription, working alongside other factors to facilitate preinitiation complex formation. Rrn3 is functionally conserved across species, with human Rrn3 showing 21% homology to its yeast counterpart, highlighting evolutionary significance. This conservation underscores Rrn3′s importance in maintaining fundamental processes of cellular growth and proliferation across different organisms. |
