Product Description

GATA-2/3 is a protein which belongs to the GATA family of transcription factors. GATA-2 is predominantly expressed in embryonic brain and liver tissues, as well as in endothelial and erythroid cells, highlighting its importance in both developmental and adult hematopoietic processes. GATA-2 interacts with other GATA family members, such as GATA-1 and GATA-3, which are involved in specific lineage differentiation, indicating broader regulatory capabilities. GATA-3 is predominantly located in the nucleus of T cells, where GATA-3 binds to specific DNA sequences to modulate gene expression. Nuclear localization is vital for function, as direct influence on the transcription of target genes drives T cell development and function.
