Product Description

TOB1 also known as TROB, APRO6 is a member of the transducer of erbB-2 /B-cell translocation gene protein family. TOB1plays a crucial role in regulating cell cycle progression, particularly in the transition from G0/G1 phase to S phase, through interactions with the mammalian homologue of yeast Caf1. This regulation is vital for maintaining proper cellular proliferation and function, especially in T lymphocytes, where TOB1 can interact with Smad2/4 to enhance SMAD DNA binding to the interleukin-2 promoter, ultimately inhibiting IL-2 transcription. Additionally, TOB1′s phosphorylation at specific serine residues by ERK1/2 upon growth-factor stimulation highlights involvement in signaling pathways that influence cell growth and differentiation.
