| Product Description | |
MARCKS also known as 80K or 80K-L is a substrate for protein kinase C. It is localized to the plasma membrane and is an actin filament crosslinking protein. MARCKS plays a crucial role as a major substrate for protein kinase C, which is vital for numerous cellular processes, including cell signaling and cytoskeletal organization. The human MARCKS protein consists of 332 amino acids and is primarily located at the plasma membrane, where MARCKS can rapidly dissociate upon phosphorylation by different protein kinase C isoforms, such as PKC α and PKC ε, which are particularly active in NIH/3T3 fibroblasts. This dynamic regulation of MARCKS is essential for its function in cellular signaling pathways. |
