Product Description

RIP3 is a member of the receptor-interacting protein (RIP) family of serine/threonine protein kinases, and contains a C-terminal domain unique from other RIP family members. RIP3 plays a crucial role in the regulation of programmed cell death, specifically in the process of necroptosis, which is a form of regulated necrosis that can occur when apoptosis is inhibited. RIP3 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where RIP3 interacts with various signaling pathways to mediate cell death in response to specific stimuli, such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF) signaling. RIP3′s cytoplasmic localization enables rapid response to cellular stress and initiates necroptotic signaling cascades, thereby influencing cell fate decisions in both normal physiological processes and pathological conditions, such as inflammation and cancer.
