| Product Description | |
FYN is a member of the Src family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases. FYN plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways that regulate essential processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and motility. Located primarily in the cytoplasm and at the plasma membrane, FYN is involved in T-cell receptor signaling, which is vital for immune responses. Proper localization of FYN is essential for the activation of downstream signaling cascades that lead to T-cell activation and function. Human FYN gene, which maps to chromosome 6q21, encodes a 537 amino acid protein that is normally maintained in an inactive state but can be activated during cellular events like mitosis. Structural features of FYN, including amino-terminal membrane anchor and SH3 and SH2 domains, facilitate interaction with other signaling molecules, underscoring importance in regulating various cellular processes. |
