Product Description

ErbB4 also known as HER4 is a member of the Tyr protein kinase family and the epidermal growth factor receptor subfamily. ErbB4 plays a crucial role in cell signaling pathways that regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. ErbB4 is primarily located on the cell membrane, where ErbB4 can form homodimers or heterodimers upon ligand binding, a process essential for activation and subsequent signaling. ErbB4′s membrane localization enables interaction with various ligands, such as heregulin, which promotes proteolytic cleavage and ectodomain release. This ectodomain can then engage in paracrine signaling, influencing neighboring cells and contributing to tissue homeostasis and development.
