Product Description | |
Etk also known as BMX is a member of the Tec family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases, BMX plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways that regulate cell growth, differentiation, and survival, particularly in hematopoietic cells. BMX expression is notably high in the heart, where BMX is involved in cardiomyocyte function and response to stress, making BMX essential for maintaining cardiovascular health. BMX protein is structurally characterized by the presence of SH3 and SH2 domains, which facilitate protein-protein interactions, and a Pleckstrin homology domain that aids in membrane localization. Understanding BMX function and regulation is vital, as dysregulation of this kinase has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disorders. |
