| Product Description | |
c-Abl is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a vital role in regulating cellular processes such as differentiation, division, adhesion, and response to stress. c-Abl is primarily localized in both the cytoplasm and nucleus, a distribution crucial for involvement in various signal transduction pathways and maintaining cellular homeostasis. c-Abl interacts with several key proteins, including p53, Crk, and the Ras-related GTP-binding protein p21rac, which are essential for controlling cell cycle progression and apoptosis. Dysregulation of c-Abl, often through formation of the Bcr-Abl fusion protein resulting from the Philadelphia chromosome translocation, drives development of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) and certain types of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). |
