Product Description

CDK2 is a member of a family of serine/threonine protein kinases that participate in cell cycle regulation. Cdk2 plays a fundamental role in cell cycle regulation by partnering with cyclins E and A to control the transition from the G1 phase to the S phase and the progression through the S phase, respectively. These interactions are critical for the initiation of DNA replication and the maintenance of genomic integrity, making Cdk2 essential for proper cell division and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation. Dysregulation of Cdk2 activity is implicated in various cancers, highlighting Cdk2′s importance as a target for therapeutic intervention and cancer research. The ability of Cdk2 to form complexes with different cyclins allows for precise temporal control of kinase activity, ensuring that cells replicate DNA accurately and divide correctly.
