Product Description

PRKD2 also known as Protein kinase D2, PKD2 is a serine/threonine protein kinase. PRKD2 plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including proliferation, apoptosis, and signal transduction, by acting as a calcium-independent, phospholipid-dependent protein kinase. PRKD2 is primarily located in both the cytoplasm and nucleus, where PRKD2 shuttles between these compartments to exert functions. Nuclear translocation of PRKD2 facilitates transcriptional activation of key genes such as Nur77 while simultaneously excluding histone deacetylase 7 (HDAC7) from the nucleus. This dynamic localization underscores PRKD2′s significance in regulating gene expression in response to extracellular signals, particularly those mediated by G-protein-coupled receptors.
