Product Description

PDGF-D also known as IEGF is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor family. PDGF-D plays a crucial role in various biological processes, particularly in the regulation of cell growth and survival, making PDGF-D essential for the development and maintenance of connective tissues. PDGF-D is secreted as a disulphide-linked homodimer known as PDGF-DD, which is activated through limited proteolysis to specifically bind to the PDGFR-β receptor, thereby initiating signaling pathways that influence cellular functions. PDGF-D expression is notably observed in fibroblastic adventitial cells, cultured endothelial cells, and various tumor cell lines, highlighting PDGF-D significance in both normal physiology and pathological conditions.
