Product Description | |
eEF2K is predominantly located in the cytoplasm, where eEF2K interacts with calcium and calmodulin, which are essential for activation. Notably, eEF2K undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation at specific serine residues, which further influence activity and stability. For instance, phosphorylation at Ser 359 and Ser 366, induced by factors such as insulin-like growth factor-1 and p70 S6 kinase, respectively, leads to inactivation of eEF2K, particularly under low calcium conditions. This intricate regulation underscores the importance of eEF2K in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to environmental changes. |
