Product Description

Chk1 also known as CHEK1 plays a critical role in the cellular response to DNA damage, functioning as a key regulator in the G2 DNA damage checkpoint. By phosphorylating Cdc25C, Chk1 inhibits its activity, which in turn prevents the activation of cyclin-dependent kinases and blocks the progression of mitosis. This regulatory mechanism is vital for maintaining genomic stability, as cells can repair DNA damage before entering mitosis, thereby preventing the propagation of damaged DNA to daughter cells. Chk1 has been shown to interact with other proteins involved in cell cycle regulation, including Wee1, further underscoring Chk1′s importance in the intricate network of cell cycle control.
