Product Description

C/EBPβ also known as CEBPB is a crucial transcription factor belonging to the CCAAT-enhancer binding protein family, playing a significant role in the differentiation of various cell types, including liver, adipose tissue, blood cells, and the endocrine pancreas. C/EBP β is particularly important due to its involvement in the regulation of the acute phase response in hepatocytes, a critical process for the body′s response to inflammation and injury. C/EBP β exists in multiple isoforms, generated through alternative translational initiation at several AUG start sites, which allows for a diverse range of functional activities. The phosphorylation of C/EBP β is essential for DNA binding capability, and interaction with Stat3 is vital for the interleukin 6-mediated transcription of the C/EBP β gene, linking C/EBP β directly to the acute phase response in liver cells.
