Product Description | |
IKKε also known as IKBKE, IKKI is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in immune response by regulating the activation of transcription factor NFκB. IKKε is primarily expressed in immune cells and is induced by stimuli such as lipopolysaccharide and proinflammatory cytokines like TNFα, IL-1, and IL-6. IKKε is essential for phosphorylation of IκBα at specific serine residues, which leads to degradation of IκB and subsequent release and activation of NFκB. IKKε′s ability to modulate NFκB signaling is significant, as NFκB is involved in various cellular processes, including inflammation, immune response, and cell survival. Overexpression of IKKε has been linked to enhanced phosphorylation of IκBα and increased NFκB activity, indicating a potential role as an IκB kinase in immune regulation. |
