DEPP also known as FIG, C10orf10, DEPP1 is one of the early adipogenic markers.The expression of DEPP is induced by fasting as well as by progesterone. DEPP protein contains a t-synaptosome-associated protein receptor (SNARE) coiled-coil homology domain and a peroxisomal targeting signal. Production of DEPP protein leads to phosphorylation and activation of the transcription factor ELK1. |
