RXRγ also known as NR2B3, RXRgamma(Retinoid X receptor gamma), RXRG is a member of the retinoid X receptor (RXR) family of nuclear receptors. RXRγ plays a crucial role in mediating the effects of retinoic acid, a vital signaling molecule involved in numerous biological processes, including cell differentiation, growth, and apoptosis. RXRγ is primarily located in the nucleus, where RXRγ functions as a transcription factor that regulates gene expression in response to retinoic acid and other ligands. RXRγ′s ability to form heterodimers with other nuclear receptors, such as retinoic acid receptors and thyroid hormone receptors, enhances regulatory capacity, making RXRγ essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to hormonal signals. |
