Product Description

Bcl-6 is a critical transcriptional repressor involved in regulating gene expression by binding to Stat recognition-like DNA elements. Bcl-6 plays a pivotal role in germinal center development and the differentiation of T helper cells into Th1 and Th2 subsets, essential processes in the adaptive immune response. Post-translational modifications of Bcl-6, such as acetylation, phosphorylation, and ubiquitination, are crucial for regulating stability, localization, and transcriptional activity. HDAC- and SIR2-dependent acetylation of Bcl-6 modulates activity by inhibiting the recruitment of histone deacetylase complexes, thereby downregulating repressive functions. These modifications are vital for the fine-tuning of Bcl-6′s role in various cellular processes, including the negative regulation of NFκB expression, which is important for controlling inflammatory responses and maintaining immune system balance.
