Product Description

Yes1 also known as Yes, c-Yes is a crucial member of the Src family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases. Yes1 play a significant role in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, motility, and adhesion. The c-Yes protein, encoded by the human c-Yes gene located on chromosome 18p11.31-p11.21, consists of 543 amino acids and shares over 80% homology with c-Src, particularly outside of their unique amino-terminal regions. This high degree of similarity allows c-Yes to participate in similar signaling pathways, but distinct SH3 and SH2 domains provide specificity in substrate binding, which is essential for cellular signaling. c-Yes modulates these pathways as a vital player in oncogenic processes, and understanding c-Yes interactions and regulatory mechanisms is crucial for developing targeted therapies in cancer treatment.
