Product Description

PD-L2 also known as CD273, B7DC, Pdcd-1L2 is a 73 amino acid type I transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in the immune system by providing inhibitory signals to T cells, thereby regulating immune responses and maintaining tolerance. Pdcd-1L2′s structure includes a signal sequence, immunoglobulin V-like and C-like domains, a transmembrane region, and a cytoplasmic region, which are essential for mediating interactions with immune receptors. The gene encoding Pdcd-1L2 is located on human chromosome 9p24.2, and Pdcd-1L2 expression on various parenchymal cells, such as those in the heart, lung, and kidney, suggests that the Pdcd-1-Pdcd-L system may be pivotal in preventing autoimmune diseases by modulating T cell activity. Pdcd-1L2′s ability to interact with other proteins in the immune system further underscores its importance in maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing excessive immune responses.
