MYL2 is predominantly located in adult cardiac ventricle muscle, where MYL2 forms part of a hexameric complex essential for proper heart functioning. Precise localization of MYL2 is vital for maintaining structural integrity and contractile efficiency of cardiac tissue, and MYL2 expression is a key marker for cardiac chamber specification.
