Product Description

TIP60 also known as KAT5 is a crucial chromatin-associated protein that functions as a histone acetyltransferase (HAT), playing a significant role in the regulation of gene expression and chromatin remodeling. TIP60 recognizes a protein that modifies histones through acetylation, which alters chromatin structure and accessibility, thereby influencing transcriptional activation. TIP60 is particularly notable for its interactions with various transcriptional coactivators and nuclear hormone receptors, enhancing the transcriptional response to steroid hormones such as androgens, estrogens, and progestins. Additionally, TIP60 has been implicated in DNA damage response pathways, where TIP60 acts as a coactivator for the HIV TAT protein and is involved in the recruitment of repair factors to sites of DNA damage.
