Product Description

PRAS40 also known as AKT1S1 is a proline-rich substrate of AKT that binds 14-3-3 protein when phosphorylated. PRAS40 plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase pathway, which regulates various cellular processes including growth, survival, and metabolism. PRAS40 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where PRAS40 interacts with other signaling molecules, including activated Akt. This interaction influences PRAS40′s phosphorylation state, which affects binding to 14-3-3 proteins. Such binding modulates PRAS40′s subcellular localization and regulates enzymatic activity, impacting cellular responses to growth factors and stress signals.
