Product Description

FRS2 also known as SNT, FRS2alpha is a lipid-anchored docking protein that becomes tyrosine phosphorylated in response to FGF or NGF stimulation and subsequently binds to GRB2/Sos complexes. FRS2 plays a pivotal role as a docking protein in the FGF and NGF signaling pathways, essential for the activation of the Ras/MAPK pathway by bridging receptor tyrosine kinases to key signaling molecules like GRB2 and SOS. Located primarily at the plasma membrane, the subcellular localization of FRS2 is crucial for its function in signal transduction, facilitating effective interactions with activated receptors. Structurally, FRS2 is characterized by four Grb2 binding sites, a myristylation sequence necessary for membrane anchoring, and a protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) domain, all of which are vital for its interactions and signaling capabilities.
