c-Cbl also known as CBL plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways by functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, which is essential for the regulation of protein degradation and cellular homeostasis. Cbl′s function lies in modulating the activity of various signaling proteins, thereby influencing processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Dysregulation of Cbl has been implicated in several hematological malignancies, as Cbl is involved in the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of proteins that promote oncogenic signaling. c-Cbl gene product is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm, where c-Cbl interacts with multiple signaling molecules, highlighting c-Cbl′s significance in maintaining normal cellular functions and preventing tumorigenesis. |
