Product Description

PKD1 also known as Protein kinase D1, PRKD1, PKC μ is a serine/threonine protein kinase. PKD1 plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in regulating cell growth, differentiation, and survival. PKD1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and can translocate to the membrane in response to specific stimuli, which is vital for mediating cellular responses to growth factors and hormones. Proper localization of PKD1 is essential for activation and subsequent signaling cascade, as PKD1 interacts with various membrane-associated proteins and lipids, thereby influencing processes such as gene expression and apoptosis.
