Product Description

NOS3 also known as eNOS plays a crucial role in the cardiovascular system by synthesizing nitric oxide (NO), a signaling molecule that regulates vascular tone and blood flow. Proper functioning of NOS3 is vital for maintaining endothelial health and preventing cardiovascular diseases, as NOS3 helps mediate vasodilation and inhibit platelet aggregation. NOS3 is primarily located in endothelial cells lining blood vessels, where NOS3 activity is tightly regulated by calcium levels and calmodulin binding, ensuring NO production is responsive to physiological demands. Dysregulation of NOS3 can lead to various pathologies, including hypertension and atherosclerosis, highlighting NOS3′s importance in vascular biology and potential as a therapeutic target.
